NEW LOOK – Walker’s redesign
On the 125th anniversary of Walker’s Ltd. As part of a comprehensive relaunch, the products appear in a new packaging design.
The refresh of the logo takes up the style of the original logo from the founding days. The tartan – the striking red checkered identifying feature of the packaging – remains. Tried and tested tradition combined with forward-looking design determine the new look.
Pictured is Jean Garden packing Walker’s first “Kilted Girl” baked goods at Aberlour’s Walker’s Bakery. Jean worked in the bakery at the time and returned in the mid-1980s as a cleaner while her husband worked as a driver for Walker's. The company is proud to report that Matthew, the couple's grandson, also works for Walker's Ltd today. is employed and actively supports the gardening team.
The impetus for the design of the can at that time was the contents. The Petticoat Tails Shortbreads owe their name to the look of the fabric pieces that were sewn together to form petticoat skirts in the 12th century.
As a highlight of the new relaunch line as part of the 125th anniversary, this exact can was reissued in a retro style. This is a tribute to the history of Walker’s. It represents a modern version of the original tin developed by the Walker family in the 1960s and returns this year as a collector's item.
