Da Hong Pao is a strongly fermented, dark roasted Oolong tea that comes from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian. It is one of the famous rock teas and is also known as the "big red robe". According to legend, the then emperor of the Ming Dynasty, in gratitude for the healing of his mother, put red robes around the tea bushes from which this special tea came. Visually, this oolong has a typically open, robust leaf structure. It develops softly in the mouth with complex, pleasant toasted notes and subtle undertones of cedar wood, cocoa and fruit. A long-lasting, varied pleasure!
